Become are working with an eCommerce brand located in Stockport due to growth within the company they require a PHP/Laravel or Magento developer to join our fast-growing e-commerce team. The position is full time and permanent and based at their Stockport office.
The successful candidate will need to have several years' prior experience in development, including both front- and back-end work.
They will be working on the maintenance and optimisation of the existing Magento 1 platform, the development of new functionality and the long-term preparation for migration to Magento 2. Prior Magento 1 experience is preferred, but training is available for senior candidates already skilled with similar platforms.
In addition, they will work on other in-house development projects including data warehouse development, which uses open source technologies and a stack including Laravel and MySQL.
While this is a full-stack role, the front-end work is largely framework based, making this quite a back-end heavy position better suited to someone who prefers writing PHP and SQL.
-Graduate with a minimum of three years' commercial experience in OOP PHP and MySQL
-A degree in computer science/software engineering or a related field Essential skills and experience
-Strong MVC skills, including experience with frameworks (we use Zend in Magento and Laravel on other projects)
-Strong skills in the use of Git for version control
-Recent Magento 1 experience is required Desirable skills and experience -Experience of Laravel and/or Symfony
-Experience of front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation
-Experience with Sass/Less
