Become are working with a market leading eCommerce agency based in central Manchester due to expansion they are looking for a Senior Technical Developer who will be working with the Technical Lead to ensure high levels of quality on production systems by improving processes, performing performance monitoring and analysis, and improving automation through the use of the latest technologies and standards. Their Senior Technical Developer will be taking part in code reviews and architecting/designing solutions for bigger-picture projects like accessibility, semantics, performance, and ensuring code maintainability.

You will be a team player who can work autonomously and, in a team, who isn’t afraid to ask questions, and who is a good communicator with excellent time management skills. Having exceptional attention to detail and taking pride in your work is essential.

Required skills and experience

•Ability to design, articulate, and build complex solutions.

•Ability to produce clean, well document, efficient, and standards compliant code.

•Have a passion and proficiency in automated testing.

•Knowledge of best practices and architecture for complex web applications.

•OOP PHP.

PHP based frameworks (Zend, Symfony, Laravel).

•Experience with performance monitoring and tuning (New Relic, Blackfire.io).

•PHPUnit settings and configuration.

•Ability to define new coding standards using Static Content Analysis and Linters.

•Experience with continuous integrations and automation (Travis, Jenkins).

•HTTP protocol knowledge.

•Reverse Proxies and Edge Caching (Varnish).

•Knowledge of cache stores and how they are used (Redis, memcached).

•Knowledge of Web server technologies (nginx, Apache).

•Virtualisation and Containerisation (Docker).

•MySQL and other data storages.

•Linux and macOS.

•Composer and NPM.

•Version Control Systems (GIT, SVN).

•HTML and XML.

 

Desirable

•Experience with AWS.

•Experience with JIRA or other tracking tools.

•Experience in software development within an ecommerce environment and with Magento.

•Knowledge of OWASP Secure Coding Practices.

•Knowledge of deployment (Capistrano, DeployBot).

•Experience with Magento Indexes and Magento Caching.
