Become are working along-side a market leading digital agency, due to internal growth they are in a position to take on a PHP Developer, My client offers the opportunity to work collaboratively on challenging projects, delivering high-quality solutions for an impressive range of clients. As a PHP Developer, you will work with a range of technologies, including open source platforms. With a generous training budget, we will provide any training needed for unfamiliar technologies. 

My client follow agile principles and have a keen focus on ensuring our technical infrastructure enables our teams to perform to their best. We will, of course, provide full training on our quality management and wider working practices. Before all of that: you can expect an informal interview, followed by a coding test, so we can see how you approach technical problems.

oProduce solutions to defined requirements, with direction from the Technical Lead
oDeliver services in line with our ISO-accredited processes
oEnsure the technical quality and consistency of your development work in the following key areas:
oSecurity
oMaintainability
oPerformance
oGuide and mentor less experienced developers

Technical Skills requred:

oExperienced in developing modern, object-oriented PHP applications and using version control systems, such as Git.
oAble to create database schemas and develop code that interacts with databases
oFamiliar with modern frameworks and components, such as Symfony, Laravel, Silex, Doctrine or Guzzle
oExperienced in exposing data via REST APIs and integrating with third party APIs
oAble to demonstrate strong debugging skills, using tools such as xdebug


Desirable skills:

oExperience working in Unix-based environments, using the command line and Virtual Machines for local development
oAbility to write automated unit and functional tests
oKnowledge of server administration in a Linux environment
oProven ability to work effectively within a team
oSelf-motivated time management and organisation skills
oKeen ability to learn and adapt to new approaches and technologies
oGeneral front-end development skills
oDevOps experience with Microsoft Azure hosting beneficial
oA can-do attitude and ambition to deliver quality results
